Song Exploder

We picked Song Exploder because no other music show does this much with isolated stems. Host Hrishikesh Hirway gives artists their own tracks—drums, vocals, guitar—and lets them narrate the decisions behind each layer. The result is structural, not promotional: you hear how a lyric changed, why headphones were banned from the room, which demo got scrapped for having no heart. It trades breadth for depth, covering one song per episode, and the back catalog holds up because the architecture of a good song doesn't expire.
